The 2022 Toronto Audiofest has come and gone, but will not soon be forgotten. Thanks to our partnership with EQ Audio Video, we were able to showcase and demo many new and exciting products in the large Sutton B room on the main floor. Products from Monitor Audio, Rotel and Roksan all made an appearance and were a huge hit at the show, with attendees flooding our space to hear high-end audio at its finest.
Making its North American debut at the show, Monitor Audio's NEW Platinum Series 3G continuously drew in crowds of attendees eager to hear the flagship speakers. Our main system showcased the Platinum 200 3G floorstanding speakers joined by Rotel's multi-award winning Michi Series.
In his SoundStage! Global show report, Doug Schneider said the Platinum 200s "sounded unbelievably good, displaying ultra-powerful bass that belied the speakers’ modest size, along with midrange purity that was uncanny."
Doug went on to say, "It was the most impressive sound that I heard at Toronto Audiofest 2022."
Another positive show report came from Stereophile, where Robert Schryer said the system "delivered an airy, uncluttered sense of wide-open space and deep-diving transparency, along with vivid tones, stygian bass impact, and a chunky—dare I say ballsy—musical momentum."
In his show report with Trends, Electronics & Design (TED), George de Sa said the system "came across as delicate and detailed with a balanced sound that was engaging and impactful. Despite the relatively compact stature of the PL 200, they played with real zeal and dynamic punch."
He also stated that the new Platinum 3G speakers "look just gorgeous, with their gentle curves, fine choice of veneers and tasteful silver accents."
Another North American debut was Rotel's NEW Diamond Series, a range that celebrates the company's 60 year anniversary. The Diamond Series consists of the RA-6000 Integrated Amplifier and DT-6000 DAC Transport and feature an industrial design engineered with modern, contemporary styling complimenting Rotel’s current offerings while paying tribute to the brand’s iconic heritage through generations of legacy models.
The Diamond models were joined by Monitor Audio's Silver 500 7G speakers, which recently won the 'Best Floorstanding Loudspeakers of the Year' award from EISA, as well as many other awards.
Other great products on display included the Roksan Attessa Series joined by Monitor Audio's Silver 100 7G, as well as Monitor Audio's new Cinergy, a THX® Ultra Certified Cinema Audio System combining unparalleled installation versatility with uncompromising sound quality for the ultimate cinematic experience.
