This really is the last word in installed performance, featuring an RDT III bass driver, C-CAM midrange driver and C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with UD Waveguide II. This combination ensures levels of acoustic transparency and detail found in Monitor Audio’s premium loudspeaker ranges, where much of this acoustic technology was developed. The midrange driver and tweeter are built into a new Inverted Dual Concentric II (IDC II) coaxial mid/tweeter driver array, a ground up redesign that now features a larger voice coil to ensure the Uniform Dispersion (UD) Waveguide II can be used to control the high-frequency directivity. Effectively a point source, it creates an exceptionally large soundstage in the listening environment.
As a Controlled Performance (CP) model, it is fitted with a fully sealed back box that provides an ideal air load for the drivers, optimising mid-range and bass performance while maintaining sonic consistency regardless of interior wall construction. These rigid, mineral filled enclosures reduce the sound from the back of the cabinet by around 30 dB. This range guarantees excellent audio quality and versatility, for superior level of sound isolation between rooms and floors.
It has a cut out diameter of 9.75" and uses the patented Quik-Link speaker cable connecter, which revolutionises the ease and speed of speaker installation. Tri-Grip has also been evolved for simple, reliable and strong fitment.
